Our take
Short, focused and moving — this is the tour we suggest to families with a veteran in the story and to anyone who has read about D-Day and wants to stand on the ground. Three sites in three days is the right depth, and having a Tour Director who knows the beaches turns a drive into a narrative. It is a coach-heavy five days (Days 2 and 4 run 208 and 267 miles), and note Globus's alert that Memorial Pegasus is closed for renovation from September 2026 to May 2027, so the April 23, May 7 and May 21 departures skip it.

Bid au revoir to Paris and embark on a moving and fascinating journey into Normandy. In Caen, visit the Memorial Museum for Peace. Continue to Arromanches to experience archive images in the 360 circular cinema. See the remnants of Mulberry Harbour at Arromanches-Les-Bains and the German artillery bunkers at Longues-sur-Mer. Later, return to Caen for free time this evening.
Highlight · When British troops landed on Gold Beach on the morning of June 6, 1944, the town of Arromanches-les-Bains was saved from destruction, thanks to the artificial Mulberry Port, constructed by the Allied Forces. Nearly 25,000 British troops from the 50th British Infantry Division landed on the area, successfully taken by Allied forces late afternoon on D-Day, June 6th. While the Allied forces did not actually land at Arromanches-les-Bains in June 1944, the beaches were a critical factor in the victory of the Battle of Normandy. Vestiges of the manmade Mulberry Port are fascinating to see, while learning about the historic day at the D-day Museum in Arromanches is inspiring indeed.

Is the American Cemetery included?
Yes — Day 3 visits Omaha Beach, the American Military Cemetery and Memorial, along with Utah Beach, Sainte-Mère-Église and Pointe du Hoc. If you have a relative buried there, tell us and we will help you locate the grave in advance.
What about Memorial Pegasus?
Globus notes the Memorial Pegasus museum is closed for renovation from 1 September 2026 to 31 May 2027; departures on April 23, May 7 and May 21, 2027 will not visit it. Pegasus Bridge itself is still seen.
How much walking is there?
Expect guided walking tours most days, often on cobbles, steps and uneven ground. If that is a concern, tell us before you commit and we will talk it through rather than hope for the best.
Which dates are cheapest?
