Travel Connects
FAQ

Frequently asked questions.

Everything you might want to know before reaching out — from how we get paid to what happens if your trip goes sideways at 2 AM.

How we work

Is your planning service really free?

Yes — really. We are paid by the suppliers (hotels, cruise lines, resorts, tour operators), the same way a mortgage broker is paid by the lender. You pay the same rate you'd pay booking directly with the supplier (often less, because we have access to partner rates you can't see on Expedia). We never charge a planning fee for standard trips.

So how do you make money?

Suppliers pay us a commission — after you travel. That commission is already built into the price you see online, whether you book through us or directly. When you book through us, the supplier pays us; when you book yourself, they keep that money. Either way, you pay the same.

What does working with you actually look like?

After you submit a quote request or reach out to us, we reach out within 24 hours. We have a short conversation about what you want, your budget, dates, and any constraints. Within a few days we send you a written proposal with options. You pick one, we handle the booking, and we stay in touch before, during, and after your trip.

Can I still use points and miles?

Absolutely. We help a lot of clients build hybrid trips — flights on points, hotels through us, or vice versa. Just tell us what you're planning to book yourself and we'll work around it.

Trip types

What kinds of trips do you plan?

Family vacations, couples getaways, group trips, multi-generational family reunions, destination weddings, honeymoons, cruises, Disney and Universal trips, all-inclusive resort stays, European tours, Caribbean getaways, and corporate retreats.

Do you book just flights or just hotels?

Generally no. You are better off using Google Flights or airlines directly. We specialize in packaged trips, cruises, and group travel where our expertise and partner relationships genuinely add value.

How large a group can you coordinate?

We will plan trips from 1 traveler to 200+. For groups of 10 or more, we handle rooming lists, flight coordination, transfers, group dining, activities, and a single point of contact for everyone. You don't have to be the one answering “what time is dinner” 30 times.

Can you do last-minute trips?

Yes, though lead time helps. Ideally we have 60+ days before departure for the best rates and availability. We've booked trips 10 days out before — it's just more constrained on pricing and options.

Cost & payments

Will I pay more through you than booking myself?

No. We're often less expensive because we have partner rates with suppliers that you can't access directly — room upgrades, resort credits, free night stays, onboard credits on cruises. And when prices match, your trip still costs you the same either way.

How do payments work?

Payments go directly from you to the supplier — we don't handle your money. Most trips require a deposit to hold (usually $200–500 per person) with final payment due 30–90 days before departure depending on the supplier. We'll walk you through the payment schedule before you confirm.

What if I have to cancel?

Cancellation policies depend on the supplier and the fare type. We always recommend travel insurance, and we can help you pick a plan that covers Cancel For Any Reason scenarios if flexibility matters to you.

Do you charge for a custom itinerary?

Standard trips (hotel + air + activities) are always free. Complex fully custom itineraries with lots of private guides, multi-country routing, or extensive research may carry a small planning fee that we disclose upfront before any work begins.

Trust & compliance

Are you licensed?

Yes. Travel Connects is registered with the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services as a Seller of Travel (Reg. No. TI125330) and with the California Attorney General's Seller of Travel Program (Reg. No. 2089491-50). We partner with KHM Travel Group, an accredited host agency with a Florida Seller of Travel registration and IATAN / CLIA / ARC credentials.

Where are you based?

We're headquartered in Parkland, Florida, and we serve clients throughout South Florida, across the U.S., and internationally. Most of our work is done remotely via phone, email, and video call — but if you're local and want to meet in person, we're happy to.

Who will I actually be working with?

You'll work directly with Prutha, our lead travel advisor. She handles every client relationship personally. You won't get passed to a call center or shuffled between team members.

What happens if something goes wrong during my trip?

You call or text us. That's the whole point of booking through an advisor. If a flight cancels at 2 AM, a hotel oversells your room, or a hurricane threatens your cruise, we have direct lines to the suppliers the public doesn't have. Most issues we can resolve in minutes that would take hours or days on hold with a 1-800 number.

Getting started

How do I get started?

Three easy options:
1. Fill out our free quote form with your trip idea — we respond within 24 hours.
2. Take the travel quiz, it's 2 minutes and we send back three trip ideas built around how you like to travel. It's a great way to get the conversation started.
3. Call or text us at (954) 698-4438. We answer real phone calls from real humans, usually within a few hours.

What information do you need from me?

To start, just: approximate dates, approximate destination or vibe, how many travelers, rough budget range, and anything non-negotiable (mobility concerns, dietary restrictions, age of kids, etc.). We'll ask the rest during our first call.

What if I'm not sure where I want to go?

That's one of our favorite types of conversations. Tell us what feeling you want (adventure, relaxation, culture, kid-friendly, etc.) and a budget range. We'll come back with different destinations that each achieve it, and you pick.

Still have a question?

Shoot us a note — real humans read every message and we respond within 24 hours.
