Our take

A tight, well-paced first Ireland trip that hits the west and the south without the long empty stretches of a bigger circuit. The farm visit and the Irish coffee are the kind of small included moments that make Globus worth it here. It is, though, a coach tour with five driving days of 110 to 175 miles, and the Ring of Kerry is a scenic drive rather than a walk — good for people who want to see a lot, less good for people who want to linger.

Highlights

  • Globus Choice excursions in Waterford − included in your tour with your choice of a visit to the House of Waterford Crystal or a guided walking tour of Waterford
  • Rathbaun Farm visit with scone baking, coffee and sheep herding demonstration
  • 6 nights in listed hotels, 6 breakfasts, 3 dinners, Tour Director throughout
  • 42 departures currently open across 2027, from $2,399 per person, land only — flights from home not included

Who this trip suits

  • First-time visitors who want Cliffs of Moher, Ring of Kerry and Blarney in one week
  • Multi-generational groups and travelers who like an easy, sociable pace
  • People who value small included experiences — the farm, the stud, the Irish coffee
  • Travelers who want driving on the left handled by someone else

Who should look elsewhere

  • Anyone who wants Northern Ireland or Galway city — neither is on this route
  • Travelers who dislike daily coach mileage — five of seven days are 110–175 miles
  • People who want long free time in one town; hotels change four times
  • Those looking for a walking or hiking trip

  2. 2Stallions, Saints & StonesDublin–Kildare–Cashel–Limerick–Ennis

Hit your stride this morning with a trip to Ireland’s horse-racing country! Drive across the Curragh to visit the Irish National Stud at Kildare. There’s still lots more to see, including the Rock of Cashel, where St. Patrick preached; and Limerick, where an orientation sightseeing drive features St. Mary’s Cathedral, King John’s Castle, and the stone where the Treaty of Limerick was signed in 1691.

Highlight · The Irish National Stud is home to the long tradition of Ireland’s love of horses. This horse-breeding facility in County Kildare, considered the beating heart of Ireland's thoroughbred industry, continues to inspire all who visit. Hear about some of the world’s most magnificent champion stallions that have made racing history since the turn of the 20th century.

This afternoon, a special treat at Rathbaun Farm to enjoy coffee and your own home-made scones.

Local favorite · Someone’s in the kitchen in Rathbaun Farm, just outside of Galway. You can don an apron and whip up your own delicious home-made scones, served with fresh preserves and whipped cream. Learn about the long-time tradition of sheep farming in this beautiful Irish landscape.

Join the road known as the Ring of Kerry for a spectacular drive around Ireland’s southwestern peninsula. Enjoy an Irish coffee in a local bar before arriving at the popular resort of Killarney.

Local favorite · It’s clear why we get a warm feeling with traditional Irish Coffee – as much a warm welcome now as it was for stranded travelers in 1943. It was a wintry night in Limerick when Foynes Port chef Joe Sheridan concocted this soothing elixir of hot coffee, Irish whiskey, sugar, and whipped cream to make their cancelled flight a little more palatable. Raise a toddy glass of Caife Gaelach with a hearty “slainte!”

Questions we get about this trip

Is airfare included?

No. Every price on this page is land-only. We quote flights from Fort Lauderdale or Miami with your dates, and Globus can add airport transfers when the air is on their booking.

Can we kiss the Blarney Stone?

The tour stops in Blarney village with time to walk up to the castle; the stone itself is inside the castle, which has an entry fee not included in the tour.

Is Dublin covered?

Only lightly — an orientation drive on Day 1 and free time on Day 6. If Dublin matters to you, we add a night or two before or after.

How much walking is there?

Expect guided walking tours most days, often on cobbles, steps and uneven ground. If that is a concern, tell us before you commit and we will talk it through rather than hope for the best.

Which dates are cheapest?

Prices vary by departure — the dates table on this page is read from Globus's own feed, so what you see is current. Shoulder-season departures are usually the lower-priced ones; any Small Group departures cost more.

What if we need to cancel?

Globus's published terms apply and the fee schedule depends on the departure and whether air is booked through them. We link the terms rather than restate them, and we walk you through the exact figures on your reservation before you pay a deposit.

Cancellation policy

Globus' published Travel Terms & Conditions apply. Deposit amounts, final payment dates and the cancellation fee schedule vary by product and departure date, and differ again for air booked through Globus; the exact figures are confirmed on your reservation. Full terms: globusjourneys.com/terms
