Our take
This is a well-priced way to anchor a longer Thailand trip or to bolt onto a cruise or a Vietnam tour. You get the temple day done privately with a guide — the part of Bangkok that is hardest to do well alone — and the rest of the time is yours. Know what it is not: there is no Tour Director, transfers are on request, and the one guided day is the only guided day.
Highlights
- Guided tour of the Grand Palace and Temple of the Emerald Buddha
- Long-tail boat ride through the klongs (canals) of Bangkok
- 3 nights in the listed hotel, 3 breakfasts, 1 lunch
- 45 departures currently open across 2027, from $1,099 per person, land only — flights from home not included
Who this trip suits
- Independent travelers who want one expertly guided day and otherwise their own schedule
- People adding Bangkok to a cruise, a beach stay or the Vietnam tour
- First-time visitors who want the Grand Palace and temples handled with a private guide
- Couples on a budget — one of the lower-priced packages in the catalog
Who should look elsewhere
- Anyone expecting an escorted tour with a Tour Director and a group
- Travelers who want airport transfers and excursions built in — both are extras here
- People who dislike heat and crowds; Bangkok's temples deliver both
- Those wanting beaches or the north — this is city-only

Questions we get about this trip
Is airfare included?
No. Every price on this page is land-only. We quote flights from Fort Lauderdale or Miami with your dates, and Globus can add airport transfers when the air is on their booking.
Is there a Tour Director?
No. Globus Independent packages come with a Local Host you can call on, and the Day 2 sightseeing is a private guided tour. The rest is unhosted.
Can we add nights or a beach?
Yes. Extra nights at the same hotel are easy, and we regularly pair this with a beach stay or a cruise that sails from Bangkok's port.
How much walking is there?
Expect a lot of walking on your own — city stays are on foot, on cobbles and steps. If that is a concern, tell us before you commit and we will talk it through rather than hope for the best.
Which dates are cheapest?
Prices vary by departure — the dates table on this page is read from Globus's own feed, so what you see is current. Shoulder-season departures are usually the lower-priced ones; any Small Group departures cost more.
What if we need to cancel?
Globus's published terms apply and the fee schedule depends on the departure and whether air is booked through them. We link the terms rather than restate them, and we walk you through the exact figures on your reservation before you pay a deposit.
Cancellation policy
Globus' published Travel Terms & Conditions apply. Deposit amounts, final payment dates and the cancellation fee schedule vary by product and departure date, and differ again for air booked through Globus; the exact figures are confirmed on your reservation. Full terms: globusjourneys.com/terms
