Our take
Most Morocco tours run Marrakech and the desert; this one runs the north, which is greener, cooler and gets you Chefchaouen and Fez — the two places our clients talk about most afterwards. It is a genuine touring itinerary: three coach days of 170 to 190 miles, medinas that are walked not driven, and hotels that change most nights. Worth knowing before booking: Marrakech is not on it.
Highlights
- 4 UNESCO World Heritage sites on the route: Historic City of Meknes, Medina of Fez, Medina of Tetouan (formerly known as Titawin), Rabat (Modern Capital and Historic City)
- Guided city sightseeing in Tangier includes an orientation drive plus visits to the American Legation Museum and the Grand Socco
- Guided sightseeing in Meknes features the monumental gates, mosque, and Royal Palace
- 9 nights in listed hotels, 9 breakfasts, 5 dinners, Tour Director throughout
- 8 departures currently open across 2027, from $2,429 per person, land only — flights from home not included
Who this trip suits
- Travelers who want Fez, Chefchaouen and the coast rather than Marrakech and the desert
- People comfortable with a changing-hotels rhythm — five hotels in nine nights
- Photographers: the blue city, the white city, the tanneries and the medina of Fez
- Couples and friends who want guided medina walks rather than navigating souks alone
Who should look elsewhere
- Anyone whose Morocco is Marrakech or the Sahara — neither is on this route
- Travelers with mobility limits; medinas are uneven, crowded and car-free
- People who dislike long coach days — Days 4, 7 and 9 each cover 170–190 miles
- Those expecting a resort holiday; the one beach night is a stop, not a stay

Some say that the blue represents the colour of the Mediterranean Sea; others say that the Jewish community of Chefchouen introduced the colour blue as they believe is represents the sky, heaven, and God. Some suggest that the colour blue keeps the houses cool, or that it repels mosquitoes; and in Islamic culture blue represents happiness and optimism. Questions we get about this trip
Is airfare included?
No. Every price on this page is land-only. We quote flights from Fort Lauderdale or Miami with your dates, and Globus can add airport transfers when the air is on their booking.
Does this tour visit Marrakech?
No. It is a northern circuit — Casablanca, Rabat, Tangier, Tétouan, Chefchaouen, Fez, Meknes. Globus runs separate itineraries for Marrakech and the south; ask us to compare if you want both.
Is a visa needed?
U.S. passport holders do not need a visa for Morocco for a stay of this length; a passport valid for the trip is enough. We confirm the current rule when you book.
How much walking is there?
Expect guided walking tours most days, often on cobbles, steps and uneven ground. If that is a concern, tell us before you commit and we will talk it through rather than hope for the best.
Which dates are cheapest?
Prices vary by departure — the dates table on this page is read from Globus's own feed, so what you see is current. Shoulder-season departures are usually the lower-priced ones; any Small Group departures cost more.
What if we need to cancel?
Globus's published terms apply and the fee schedule depends on the departure and whether air is booked through them. We link the terms rather than restate them, and we walk you through the exact figures on your reservation before you pay a deposit.
Cancellation policy
Globus' published Travel Terms & Conditions apply. Deposit amounts, final payment dates and the cancellation fee schedule vary by product and departure date, and differ again for air booked through Globus; the exact figures are confirmed on your reservation. Full terms: globusjourneys.com/terms
