Vietnam

· 14 days· 13 nights· Hanoi, Vietnam to Siem Reap· Verified against Globus 29 Oct 2026· Globus / Cosmos

Fourteen days across Vietnam and into Cambodia with the connections already made: Hanoi's Old Quarter by cyclo, an overnight cruise on Ha Long Bay, Hoi An and Hue, Ho Chi Minh City and the Cu Chi Tunnels, then the temples of Angkor from Siem Reap. It is a Small-Group Discovery (about 20 guests), moves by coach, boat and three internal flights, and includes 13 breakfasts, 7 lunches and 6 dinners — many of them the experiences themselves: a cooking class in Hoi An, dinner at a nonprofit restaurant in Hanoi, a Khmer dinner in Siem Reap.

Our take

This is the Southeast Asia itinerary we recommend when someone wants both countries done properly rather than one done twice. Eleven UNESCO-listed sites, an overnight on Ha Long Bay and three days at Angkor is a lot of ground, and Globus keeps the group to about 20, which matters in temple crowds and on boats. The trade-off is that it is long (14 days plus flying time from Florida), hot, and involves early mornings, three internal flights and a fair amount of walking on temple steps.

Highlights

  • 11 UNESCO World Heritage sites on the route: Angkor Thom, Angkor Wat, Banteay Srei, Bayon Temple, Ha Long Bay and more
  • Guided sightseeing in Hanoi with visit to Hoa Lo Prison and a cyclo ride in the Old Quarter
  • Visits to Angkor Wat, Angkor Thom, Bayon Temple, Banteay Srei Temple, and a local school
  • 13 nights in listed hotels, 13 breakfasts, 7 lunches, 6 dinners, Tour Director throughout
  • Small-Group Discovery — departures average about 20 guests
  • 5 departures currently open across 2027, from $5,619 per person, land only — flights from home not included

Who this trip suits

  • Travelers who want Vietnam and Angkor in one trip without piecing together flights, guides and boats themselves
  • People who like food as part of the itinerary — a cooking class, a fishing lesson, market walks and seven included lunches
  • Couples and friends who prefer a smaller group (about 20) to a full coach
  • History-minded travelers: Hoa Lo Prison, the Nguyen tombs at Hue, Cu Chi and the Khmer temples in one route

Who should look elsewhere

  • Anyone with limited mobility or who struggles with heat — temple sites mean steps and uneven stone in tropical humidity
  • Travelers who want beach time; there is no resort stay on this route
  • People who dislike flying inside a trip — there are three internal flights plus the long haul
  • Families with young children; it is a long, culture-dense adult pace

Questions we get about this trip

Is airfare included?

No. Every price on this page is land-only. We quote flights from Fort Lauderdale or Miami with your dates, and Globus can add airport transfers when the air is on their booking.

Is this the small-group version?

Yes. Globus runs this itinerary as a Small-Group Discovery, limited to an average of about 20 guests, with the same Tour Director, driver and Local Guides as a standard tour.

Which visas do we need?

U.S. passport holders need an e-visa for Vietnam and an e-visa for Cambodia. We walk you through both applications when you book, and your passport should be valid well beyond the trip.

How much walking is there?

Expect guided walking tours most days, often on cobbles, steps and uneven ground. If that is a concern, tell us before you commit and we will talk it through rather than hope for the best.

Which dates are cheapest?

Prices vary by departure — the dates table on this page is read from Globus's own feed, so what you see is current. Shoulder-season departures are usually the lower-priced ones; any Small Group departures cost more.

What if we need to cancel?

Globus's published terms apply and the fee schedule depends on the departure and whether air is booked through them. We link the terms rather than restate them, and we walk you through the exact figures on your reservation before you pay a deposit.

Cancellation policy

Globus' published Travel Terms & Conditions apply. Deposit amounts, final payment dates and the cancellation fee schedule vary by product and departure date, and differ again for air booked through Globus; the exact figures are confirmed on your reservation. Full terms: globusjourneys.com/terms
