Carnival Fun Ship 7-Night Caribbean
Eastern Caribbean
Carnival's casual, no-formal-night Caribbean week is the easiest first cruise for a big group: the lowest deposits in mainstream cruising, kids' programs split by age from 2 to 17, WaterWorks aqua parks and ropes courses on most ships, and included casual dining like Guy's Burger Joint alongside the main dining room.

Our take
Carnival is the easiest way to get a large, budget-conscious group on a ship: the lowest deposits in mainstream cruising, four Florida home ports, no formal nights and casual venues included with the fare. It is louder and more casual than the other lines, which is exactly what some groups want and exactly what others do not. It is our first suggestion for reunions, milestone birthdays and first cruises; we steer couples looking for a refined week elsewhere.

The real cost of this trip
The “from” price is the operator's land-only rate. This is what sits on top of it, so the number you budget is the number you pay.
| Drinks and specialty dining | Packages and cover charges add up; we price them against your habits. |
| Gratuities | Charged per guest per day unless prepaid. |
| Getting to the port | Florida departures mean a drive and parking, or a car service; Alaska and Europe sailings add flights. We price the options for your dates. |
| Drinks, Wi-Fi and specialty dining | Sold separately or as packages on most lines; we price packages against paying as you go. |
| Shore excursions | Extra on every mainstream line; we book the ones that sell out with the cruise. |
| Travel protection | Not included. We recommend it and quote it with the fare. |
| Solo travelers | Most lines charge a single supplement; a few ships have solo cabins — ask. |

Questions we get about this trip
Which Florida port?
Carnival sails from Miami, Port Canaveral, Tampa and Jacksonville — the widest choice of any line — with 3-night getaways up to week-long Caribbean sailings. Jacksonville and Tampa are the quieter ports; Miami and Port Canaveral have the newest ships (Carnival Celebration in Miami, Mardi Gras at Port Canaveral).
Why are the deposits lower?
Carnival's deposit and payment schedule is the most forgiving in mainstream cruising, which is why it works for groups that need time to collect money. The fare is refundable or non-refundable depending on the rate you choose; we explain the difference before you pick.
Is it too rowdy for grandparents?
It depends on the ship and the week. Spring break and holiday weeks are loud; a 7-night sailing in a quieter month on a newer ship is a different experience. Tell us who is coming and we will pick accordingly.
How far ahead should we book?
School-holiday weeks and the newest ships sell out eight to twelve months out; group space needs to be held early. Shoulder-season weeks can be booked closer in.
What if we need to cancel?
Each line publishes its own schedule, and refundable and non-refundable fares behave differently. We show you the exact terms for your sailing before you pay a deposit.
Cancellation policy
Refundable fares: full refund 90+ days out, sliding scale 89-30 days, no refund inside 30 days. Non-refundable fares: deposit forfeit at booking, 75% credit if cancelled 90+ days out. Travel insurance covers most cancel-for-any-reason scenarios — strongly recommended.
Documents needed
Valid passport book strongly recommended for international sailings. Closed-loop US-departure sailings accept birth certificate + government photo ID. No visas needed for typical Caribbean/Mexico itineraries; Bermuda OK with passport.
