CIE Tours Ireland Heritage Journey 8-Day

Ireland

CIE Tours is the Ireland and Britain specialist among escorted operators, with tours across Ireland, Scotland, England and Wales, plus Iceland, Italy, Spain and Portugal. Its Inclusive Advantage means every experience on the itinerary and most meals are in the price — castle stays, pub evenings, guided sightseeing with a tour director throughout — so an Ireland week arrives with few surprises on the bill.

Our take

For Ireland we start with CIE because it is what the company does — decades on the island, the castle hotels, the pub nights and the Cliffs of Moher and Ring of Kerry handled without a rental car on the left side of the road. The inclusive pricing suits people who hate surprise charges. It is a coach tour with a full schedule; if your Ireland is a slow week in one cottage, this is not it, and we will say so.

Questions we get about this trip

What does Inclusive Advantage mean?

CIE's pricing includes every experience on the itinerary and most meals, so the on-the-ground spend is mainly lunches, drinks and tips.

How does it compare with the Globus Ireland tour?

Globus's Introduction to Ireland is a tighter seven days at a lower price with fewer meals included; CIE tours run longer, include more and add castle stays. We compare the two for your dates and budget.

Is Iceland or Scotland the same style?

Yes — the same escorted format with local specialists; Scotland pairs naturally with Ireland on multi-country itineraries.

How far ahead should we book?

Popular departures fill six to nine months out; single rooms and small-group series go first.

What if we need to cancel?

The operator's terms apply and depend on the departure; we walk you through them before you pay a deposit.

Cancellation policy

Most escorted tour fares: deposit refundable up to 90 days, sliding cancellation 89-60 days (typically 50% by 60 days), no refund inside 60 days. Some premium brands require non-refundable deposits earlier. Insurance with cancel-for-any-reason highly recommended.

Documents needed

Valid passport (6+ months past return). Most European/UK tours visa-free for US citizens; Russia, India, China, Vietnam, Egypt, and a few other destinations require visa — supplier provides packet 90+ days prior. ETA/eTA may be required for UK, Australia, Canada (electronic, USD 10-20).
